The IMMUNE project – Advanced EU-made mineral-based materials for a new generation of ultralight, more resistant, eco-designed, morpho- and REACH-compliant Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) hard components for EU military forces – has officially been launched. This initiative aims to develop next-generation protective gear that is lighter, more durable, and environmentally sustainable.

Over the next 36 months, IMMUNE will tackle the challenges posed by conventional military PPE, which is often heavy and restrictive, limiting soldiers’ mobility and effectiveness. By introducing advanced materials, the project will deliver lighter, stronger, and eco-friendly protective solutions that enhance safety without compromising agility, which is critical in modern operational environments.

Coordinated by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, the IMMUNE project brings together a diverse consortium from four EU Member States. The partners include C&V Consulting, Instytut Technologii Bezpieczeństwa “MORATEX”, Paul Boyé Technologies, SAERTEX, and SEGULA Technologies. The project is funded by the European Commission under the 2023 edition of the European Defence Fund (EDF).

C&V Consulting, in collaboration with all partners, will ensure the effective exploitation, long-term impact, and enhanced visibility of IMMUNE’s results. “We are honored to contribute to this project, leveraging our expertise to align with the priorities of the armed forces”.

In February 2025, the consortium held its kick-off meeting in Lyon, hosted by SEGULA Technologies, bringing together representatives from the six participating entities to officially launch the initiative. This meeting marked the beginning of an ambitious effort to enhance REACH-compliant protection for EU armed forces.
