In light of the presentation of the Commission’s Work Programme 2025, C&V Consulting underscores the urgency of rapidly implementing the forthcoming European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP). This decisive step is crucial to enabling the EDTIB to play its full role in supporting Commissioner Kubilius’ ambition to “build a true EU Defence Union with a competitive defence industry”.

« The EU industrials are waiting for concrete actions from the institutions to support them. They are calling for more EU investment, widening the access to finance, and more flexibility when it comes to subsidies », commented Benoît Chaucheprat, co-founder of C&V Consulting.

« Bolstering the autonomy and sustainability of the EDTIB is not only important, but essential to ensure our independence and to make our voice and European values unmistakable on the global stage ». « Only by doing so, we can build a solid foundation for long-term security and preparedness for potential future conflicts”, added Jean-Marc Vesco.

Furthermore, the expected final version of the European Defence Fund’s (EDF) Interim evaluation, scheduled for the first quarter of 2025, recalls C&V Consulting’s contribution to the European Commission’s call for evidence of February 2024.

As stated in the contribution, the EDF must remain compliant with European regulations, in particular regarding the ethics compliance of defence systems – a number of the advanced technologies being developed under the EDF are facing the human-in-the-loop dilemma as part of the integration of artificial intelligence.
